Carl always loved to make people smile. He always kept a piece of paper with jokes in his pocket to share funny stories with others

When Jean passed away, Carl eventually moved to Harbor Chase Senior Living in Dr. Phillips. When Harbor Chase closed its doors to visitors during the pandemic, we were determined to find a way to bring happiness and joy to Carl so he never felt alone or forgotten.
​
We found joy in surprising him with festive treats which served as tangible reminders that we loved him even though we couldn’t physically be with him, especially during holidays. When we talked to him he expressed how meaningful these gestures were to him to know that his family cared about him so much.

Carl and Jean were incredibly loving parents and grandparents and to honor them we created Smiles & Sweets, a family-owned boutique that makes it easy for friends and family to show love and kindness to each other throughout the year.

To honor Carl and the joy he brought to others, we created Carl's Club to encourage warm acts of kindness during the holidays. When you buy one of our seasonal $10 treats for a friend, neighbor, or caretaker, you automatically become part of Carl's Club which gives you joy knowing that you the brought happiness to someone!
